We
set out to offer supplements that offer real value and that effectively
and safely enhance musculoskeletal health. There are 3 key problems
that beset the supplement industry: unreliable sources, false advertising, and
sub-therapeutic dosing. We are determined to avoid these problems.
1. Unreliable sources
The supplement
industry is, for the most part, unregulated. Most supplements in your local
grocery and vitamin store chains are manufactured in facilities where neither
the equipment nor ingredients are inspected or regulated. As a result,
processes and standards are unknown and uncontrolled and actual ingredients
often do not match those listed on the label. The FDA will usually only become engaged with a supplement manufacturer if there is a death linked to a particular brand.
What we did
differently:
We chose a supplements partner, www.ionlabs.com,
which also manufactures prescription pharmaceuticals. As a result, their
facility is FDA certified and all of their equipment, processes, ingredients,
and labeling are rigorously evaluated and inspected by FDA standards, whether
they are manufacturing prescription pharmaceuticals or our supplements.
2. False Advertising
Many supplements are
sold for musculoskeletal benefits without clear evidence of efficacy and
safety. However, there are a select few vitamins and supplements that offer measurable results when used for musculoskeletal pain and problems
What we did
differently: We
only sell supplements that have evidence to back up the claim that they can be helpful for
musculoskeletal problems and pain.
3. Non-Therapeutic
Dosing
In
addition to supplements not having the ingredients listed on the label, the
doses of the supplements are often not consistent with what the research says
is a therapeutic dose. You may be getting more or less of key ingredients, as
well as unlisted ingredients. Common examples of these practices
include:
-
Glucosamine
& Chondroitin. Often lacking the required 1500/1200 daily dose for
therapeutic benefit.
-
Omega
3: Often less than the 1000mg of EPA and DHA per day recommended as a therapeutic
dose of Fish Oil. Some companies try to deceive the consumer by providing only 300mg of EPA and DHA. The rest may be fish oil, but it is just filler and essentially useless.
What we did differently: Our business is all about measurable results and
providing solutions that will really help with musculoskeletal problems. As a
result, we only succeed if we deliver value and results, including the right
supplements with the right ingredients and doses. Click here to
